How many of us have been taught that all have all have sinned and come short of the glory of God? I imagine you like me were not taught the rest of the scripture where God became a propitiation for Israel, so that Israel could be righteous. Jesus was Israels high priest who once died for Isreals sins and sat down on the mercy seat, because no more sacrifices for sins were needed. Not one priest under the law ever sat down, because they had to constantly sacrifice animals for sin, until Christ last sacrifice of himself.Even then they continued to sacrifice animals until 70 A.D. . God did not accept them though. Once Jesus died and the law was fulfilled he put an end to sin forever We now Jew or gentile, bond or free who get saved become the new Israel of God. There is no more sin for those in Christ
